Being Strengthened and Miracles

Thanks Mom and Dad! I'm really becoming more qualified to help him and also in the process getting to learn how Heavenly Father talks to me and how to act on the spirit! It is a really great experience!

Where are you guys in Book of Mormon reading? I´m in Mosiah 3.  I love this part of the Book Of Mormon because I like to read it as if it were the world's first general conference talk. Every time I read I get something new out of it! There's a lot to learn there!

This week was full of just straight-up crazy roller coasters in all senses (Physical, Spiritual, and Mental). First I had a really bad cold - like an it-hurt-to-move cold haha, but then we got medicine, and I´m getting better.  We went to the temple (Elder Richins needed to ask a few questions for Heavenly Father) and another day we had to go to an appointment for Elder that was about 2 hrs away.  All in all we didn't have much time to work this week, but I feel like I've been strengthened more on the spiritual side. I feel a lot closer to Heavenly Father, and He's got a huge plan for me!  This last leg of my mission is gonna be full of so many great miracles!!  We worked hard but because of meetings and appointments, we did not have much time in the area .... but we did what we could, and God blessed us with many miracles!! 

First, we are teaching an older lady, and she said (on Sunday) she wants to be baptized! So we marked her baptism for March 8!  After that, a girl came to us and said "Elders, I want to be baptized!" haha So we will teach her everything she doesn't know.  Her baptism will be on the 28th to close the month with 1 batismo! I can not wait to see how many more miracles (baptisms) will happen! 

It was short this week, but I loved this week a lot!

This Week

Wow that's cool Sister Richins talked to you.  I was hoping she would send you a message! 

It's been getting hard here and I was getting really disanimated because, well, basically he´s my focus now....and has been this whole transfer - but he´s not getting better and my area is dying because I couldn´t focus on it all, ya know? But then President Dalton told me that Heavenly Father told him to tell me that He´s proud of me and the work I`m doing, and that He couldn't think of anyone else in the mission that could do what I'm doing now.  I really needed to hear that.  Then right after that Elder Richins' dad talked to me and thanked me.... I´ve never heard that in person - not like he said it..... It was a powerful experience for me that I´ll never forget.  I thought I was seeing before the instrument I was being in God's hands, but now I know that me being with Elder Richins is a LITERAL response to my prayers and a lot of things in my New Year's resolution! I´m becoming a better instrument in my Savior's hands!  

I sadly don't have much to report.  Since there´s times when I can´t work, I've been studying way more fervently because I am usually learning things that I need to help Elder Richins and so I gotta study well! And that's been bringing me even closer to Heavenly Father and has been helping me through this wonderful but difficult task I have at hand.  

I know Heavenly Father always answers the prayers of the just, but in His own time and in His own way! Who knew that praying to a sharper instrument in God's hand would've been answered with this!? This church really is the only church that can bring salvation to the children of men! I don't doubt it! If any of you guys do have a doubt about it, pray for help and then go and do! Like Nephi said "And I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do." (1 Nephi 4:6) He went without knowing where to go, but I´m sure he prayed for instruction then went!

Challenging Week... but Blessings!

That´s so cool about Dad's internship! I´ve been thinking I might like to do something with that kinda stuff too...With these experiences I´m having with Elder Richins, I´m realizing how much I want to help people with this. I´m willing to lose nights of sleep and proselyting time to help him! It's really interesting but I´m not sure yet cause I´d never be able to be as involved with the people as I am here with him. We´ll have too see. I drive him crazy sometimes cause I don't want to think about the future now haha, but I really have lost the desire to worry about a lot.  

So this week was a challenge for me for sure! We had worked really hard when we could´ve, but my comp was sick we couldn´t work on Friday and Saturday! And well this week also Rogerio and Daniela are wanting to drop us ;'( but we won't give up on them that easily... their  reasons are just cause they haven´t understood how much more important it is for them then working! So we´ve got a plan to be able to save them. 

We also saw a great miracle on Sunday! A recent convert to the church moved to our area! And she said she has a lady that's been inactive for a year and another lady that want the gospel in her life and her family´s life! So that's pretty exciting - can't wait to  see what's gonna happen! Heavenly Father Promised me Miracles... and I think I see them just around the corner!!!

Good Things!

Wow, that's awesome with the family opening up a little you are working with! That's something I´ve learned is that if you pray sincerely and often for something God will answer it! Especially with something like this! And ya I love that talk by President Uchtdorf - https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2014/10/receiving-a-testimony-of-light-and-truth?lang=eng.   There's another good one about testimonies by Elder Godoy, too (https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2008/10/testimony-as-a-process?lang=eng ) That shows that testimonies aren´t always received in a big way,  That was a challenge I had since the beginning and on my mission, too. I thought that I was suppose to have a huge experience, but it was just a process and testifying a lot! Then after I evolved a testimony, I was able to ask for miracles and see many more happening!

For example, this week we had 5 people at church !! Woo! One family (Rogerio and Daniela) we are teaching went and Elder Richins marked the son for 02/15 after sacrament meeting. We really evoked the powers of heaven! 

Also, we were walking, and we were having so much opposition like something telling us to go back home and stuff.  I knew it was not the Spirit, but Elder Richin got very discouraged. Then I felt a desire I had to ask a for a miracle to help Elder Richins and I (because this week was not very good for our work.) So I decided to pray and ask for a miracle to happen from where we were until the next appointment.  I explained that we needed help from the Lord. I felt that going to happen and called Elder and said "Let's have a miracle, Elder!" We walked a bit and I kept praying to recognize the person who would be the miracle.  I saw a woman at her gate (it was Saturday) and invited her to church and she said, "But I'm Catholic." We speak no problem she still pudia go and she said "Oh I? Really? Yes, I will." I was scared because the KKK made laws of opposition and woman of her word and went to the commitment thanking God! And you know she went! With her daughter !! It was a very great experience! That usually doesn´t happen when they say they`re catholic! haha 

I know that Heavenly Father really does answer our prayers and that if we have faith and ask fervently and diligently, Heavenly Father will answer our prayers!
