50 And I said unto them: If God had commanded me to do all things I could do them. If he should command me that I should say unto this water, be thou earth, it should be earth; and if I should say it, it would be done.
51 And now, if the Lord has such great power, and has wrought so many miracles among the children of men, how is it that he cannot instruct me, that I should build a ship?

Long Week

This week was actually really long. On the day that Elder Neil Anderson was suppose to come, São Paulistas had a huge protest on the world cup and Elder Anderson the night before received a revelation that no missionary was to leave their casa, so we had to stay in our house all day!  It was good to clean and study a little and talk with my Companion, but it made the week seem a lot longer for some reason.

My companion actually got Emergency Transferred, so I´ll be having a new companion tomorrow!  Kinda excited to see what he´ll be like.  I hope he´ll be good for this area.  I also got to listen to a  talk by Elder Holland given to BYU students that was really good about the need to prepare well, and if you prepare well you'll never feel depressed or stressed out...or something like that.

I´d like to thank you all for your help and support and prayers. Here I´ve been learning a lot about how to be a better leader, and that I have to stand up for my standards and to never let any man stop me from doing what's right. I learn sadly from the bad example of others, but something Elder Jesus always says is "use every experience to learn" so I learned how I shouldn't be, but it was a good thing because I learned a lot and have A LOT more confidence in what I´m here to do and in the Lord, too.

That's about all I really have to talk about this week! How´s the ward and Family Doing?

Love Y´all!

This Week

Wow,  Mom!  That's crazy!   I didn't even think about that a year ago I received my call!  I have changed a lot since then! I don't know if you can tell in our letters, but I can see here that I have changed a lot. I´m able to talk to people and before, talking to new people was hard.  It still is, but I´m getting better at it.... I´m also seeing myself develop a lot of leadership attributes that I´ll need for the future. I've served in the same place for six months and I´m really sad that I´ll have to leave because I realize that I don't really talk and because of this, I don't have that strong of a friendship with them. It's something that I'm trying to improve this in me. I realize that when I talk to people my mind gets all jumbled and I start speaking really bad. So I´m working on my accent and trying to talk more in lessons and stuff like that. It's really annoying right now, but I've learned that the only way I'll learn is by doing it over and over. Literally everything I learn here is from little things that I do everyday. (Like a stone in the river) I wish I learned this sooner... I would be a master at piano now and lots of other things too haha.

This week we went to a place known as 37 (for the kilometer it's at) and we talked to a few people there that have a lot of promise.  I´m really excited for this week.  The ward here is really helpful and we have people coming with us every day! AND this week Elder Anderson is coming to our mission!! It's kinda cool because he visited my mission in Washington too - so it´ll be cool to see him again!

I love you guys!

Pictures!

Note from Mom:  We got to talk to Elder Sharp for a little over an hour yesterday!  He looks great and is so happy serving in Brazil!  Because we talked, his email today said this:

I loved seeing you guys.  It was a great experience to see ya´ll and just laugh and talk. I know missionaries that organize the call, but I really don't want that....I just want to sit and talk, ya know!  It was great! It made me remember how I was the last call, and I can say I have improved A LOT.  Thanks for the email....sorry I don't really have much to write.  We already said a lot yesterday.  :) I love you guys!

 HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

(Elder Sharp used to pull over and take pictures of sunrises and sunsets last summer before his mission.  He would text them to me and so we started this thing of me taking beautiful pics of the sunrise/sunsets and sending them to each other.)

New Pilot Program

This week was pretty good. I´m learning so much from Elder Jesus! I actually have a lot more confidence with talking to people on the street in Portuguese because of him and with the little extra responsibility I got from being the missionary here in Embu-Gauçu.  I´ve learned a lot and improved a lot!

This week was really awesome.  A family came to church without any help from us! And they loved church!  Sadly, the parents aren´t married yet but they want to! So that's nothing.... we help with that!

My mission is the pilot for a new program that, if successful, will be used for all the Missions in Brasil! It's basically we spend half of our proselyting time with Members and new members because here in Brazil. It's really bad with members staying active after they´re confirmed a member. So we´re going to teach them how to be member missionaries and have them talk to their friends and family about the church. It's really awesome.  We´re also gonna start using genealogy! (So I´m gonna need the names of great-grandparents and their children, mom, and any cool stories ya´ll have about them:))
Sorry...I tried to send pics but the computer is too slow so they aren't loading fast enough.  I´ll send them next week.

I´ll give you a call Saturday! I have no idea when or where yet.  I think it will be at the bishop's house....I don't know... gotta talk him hahah.  I´ll call on Saturday and give the information in 5 min and then we can talk for an hr on Sunday! Can't wait to see ya´ll!!

Yup that's my week!!
LOVE YA´LL cant wait till sunday!
